Emiliano Buendia Goes to Aston Villa FC for a Club-Record £33m Fee

Emiliano Buendia is one of the options that Arsenal were seriously considering as a potential new signing for quite some time. The player is also appreciated and preferred by the Aston villa board and both clubs had started contacts with his agents after opening talks in December.

As things were seemingly positive for Arsenal in getting Emi Buendia, Aston Villa outbid Arsenal to agree a club-record £33m fee to sign Emiliano Buendia from Norwich City.

The agreement between Aston Villa and Norwich for Emiliano Buendia has been reached and completed, the final fee around €33/34m and medicals still pending.

Emiliano Buendia for Norwich in the Championship: 15 goals, 17 assists. No player in Europe’s Top 5 Leagues tallied both 15 goals and 15 assists this season.

Aston Villa are also targeting Southampton’s James Ward-Prowse. No formal bid yet but the England midfielder is on their shortlist.
