At a special event called “Sport and Music in the Age of Performance. Is talent still enough?” Ausilio admitted that he pays close attention to the Instagram accounts of the wives of the players. By doing this, he learns valuable things about the players’ personalities and how their wives can affect them. Ausilio confessed that even though he doesn’t have his own official Instagram account, he created one just to keep an eye on the wives of players who have caused him trouble in the past. One wife Ausilio seemed to be referring to is Wanda Nara, the wife of former Inter star Mauro Icardi. Their relationship has been filled with ups and downs, and Nara also acts as Icardi’s advisor, which has led to conflicts between her and Ausilio.
Ausilio also talked about another player, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, who currently plays for Napoli. Ausilio revealed that Inter Milan was interested in signing Kvaratskhelia before he moved to Napoli last summer. However, Ausilio explained that accommodating Kvaratskhelia in Inter’s playing system was difficult due to tactical reasons.
